“The canvas of your life is painted by the colors we choose from the pallet of everyday living… and sometimes it’s not a pretty picture.” – Alan Campbell

If you had to paint a picture which reflected your life at this very moment, what would your canvas look like? Would it have light, airy-looking pastel flowers reminiscent of happiness and pleasantness? Warm red hearts portraying love? Angry or sad-looking slashes of black scattered with no purpose?

How the “picture” of our life appears is reflected by what we choose to put on our canvas. While we may THINK we have little control over what colors we will paint with, the reality is that God says otherwise.

You see, this is why our Heavenly Father issued man the Bible, to be used as a guidebook; a way to know what is a blessing in His sight, and what is an abomination, what will bring one joy and salvation, and what will render one miserable and lead one to eternal damnation.

God is a caring Father, desiring our canvas to be lovely and pure. When we venture outside of the lines He has set forth, guidelines that any truly caring parent would set forth for His children, we should not wonder why our “picture” looks flawed and unpleasant.

Today, call out to God for a gift; a gift that can only be achieved through His Son, Jesus Christ. The gift is salvation, a new lease on life, a new canvas. This time, choose your colors wisely.

Meditation: But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hand… – Psalm 31:14-16
