Communication by Sally I. Kennedy
I was far from being among the first people to get on the train of text messaging. I was happy talking on the phone. It didn’t take long, however, to realize that I’d better get on board if I wanted to stay in touch with my grandchildren, who were totally into texting.
Communication has changed drastically in my lifetime. What used to be ‘science fiction’ is now reality. And it will no doubt keep evolving.
God communicates with us through many avenues, including people, nature, circumstances, and primarily through His word. The Bible is never out of date, always reliable, and as applicable for us today as it was for people many, many years ago.
Today, the whole Bible has been translated into 531 languages, and 2,883 languages have at least some portions of the Bible.’* There are more than sixty versions of the Bible (NIV, KJV, ESV, TLB, MSG, etc.), yet the message is always the same as it has been. God desires to communicate His great love for us. Thank you, Lord, that you are always about the business of communicating your caring for us.
That is good news.
Meditation: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. – Psalm 19:1-4
